Postpartum Depression

Postpartum depression is a persistent and debilitating feeling of anxiety, irritability, and fatigue.  These feelings can be quite common for many women during the first couple weeks after birth, as raising a child, especially if it’s a first child, can be frightening for new parents.  However, if these feelings are very severe, and continue to persist longer than three weeks, a healthcare provider should be contacted.

Women’s OB-GYN will evaluate cases of postpartum depression, as needed, and then provide the appropriate assistance for helping new mothers deal with debilitating feelings of postpartum depression.
